How is it that humans just can’t seem to get this whole sleep thing correct? Have you ever seen a dog have trouble trying to go to sleep? Of course not.
So being the intelligent kind of beings we are, shouldn’t we have finally figured out a way to sleep better? Like, every night – not just after three shots of NyQuil.
It seems to solve the mysteries of sleep we are trying anything possible: meditation, hypnosis, drugs, books (people actually have to tell us how we should be getting more sleep), new mattresses, different pillows, crazy pillows, naps, music, and the list goes on.
While I’m no perfect sleeper myself, I do find it relatively easy to catch some zz’s. Sure, I’ve been caught in the stress trap only to close my eyes at night while my head churns non-stop with all the whirling emotions and brow-raising thoughts spinning around. We’ve all been there – maybe it’s a personal life event coming up, a test, a troublesome relationship, a work-induced stress ball weighing on your mind.
