How Lack of Sleep is Bad for Your Health and The Consequences

I know personally from having a child that lack of sleep can have a tremendous negative impact on your life. After doing some research, what I found was amazing. The negative effects of losing sleep can be horrific. Recently, Arianna Huffington has been trying to bring these negative effects to light in her new book, The Sleep Revolution. Now more than ever with all the distractions that we have in our lives, sleep should take a priority. So here are 7 effects that lack of sleep will contribute to if you continue to miss out:

  • Depression
  • Weight Gain
  • Skin Aging
  • Heart Disease
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Weakened Immune System
  • Memory Problems

In the long run, sleep deprivation can also contribute to certain diseases like diabetes and other cardiovascular diseases. So next time you think that skipping sleep is OK, just remember these negative effects and hopefully you’ll think twice about skipping bedtime.
